The GEM OPL is specially designed for the catheterisation laboratory, fast reliable results on a small blood volume. Because the measurement is performed on whole blood in a disposable cuvette there is no need for cleaning and haemolysing solutions. The measurement is not affected by the presence of green dye or perflubron.
No sample preparation is required. After drawing the sample the syringe is locked onto a disposable cuvette and simply injected into the cuvette, insert cuvette into the GEM OPL. Results are available in less than 10 seconds. The sealed disposable cuvettes eliminate maintenance, and assure operator safety.
